Tea* created a sophisticated and slick look that works really well and showcases Orchid Events in the best possible light. The gallery sections were very important to us as pictures of our events are key to selling our service. Having worked with Rik on the re-design of two websites I can say he goes over and above. His can-do attitude really makes the difference and I wouldn’t go to any one else.

Background: 

Orchid Events are London’s leading wedding and events organisers, taking the pressure off their hosts, whilst delivering stunning results that are truly bespoke.

Project Brief: 

Orchid Events approached us in 2009 and asked us to give their online presence a boost by redesigning their existing website. Orchid Events also asked for an online planner to help their clients with their events.

Our Approach: 

Our initial impression of their previous website was that it was bland and restrictive. The site didn’t allow the client any control, so we decided to use the Drupal CMS system to give them a really powerful, flexible solution.

Results: 

We designed the website with a vibrant colour scheme, whilst taking care not to allow this to dominate the content. Our clients imagery was stunning and vibrant, so the website was designed to compliment and work with the imagery rather than fight it.

The planner allows individual clients to have complete control over their event, from the guest book to the budgets. We had to ensure the usability of this planner was straightforward and easy to pick up first time with as little tutorials as possible. From working closely with the client we found out that most of their customers like to have control on multiple events. For instance, at a wedding there would be a ceremony, wedding breakfast and reception, all with different guest lists, budgets and schedules. So the planner really had to be flexible to allow for this.

The client now uses their website as a mulit-tool for their business, on the one hand the site markets their services and brand, and with the other it acts as an application allowing them to work closely with their clients to ensure the best in customer relationships.
