After launching our pledge to help charities to the world of the internet I got chatting with an old friend who has given up her day job to get involved with a great cause 'Freefall Heroes'.
The aim of this project is to select ten wounded service men or women and through a combination of wind tunnel training and in air training, teach them to skydive solo.
Once they have passed the qualification which allows them to skydive solo a team of experienced skydivers will train them to competition standard (in 4-way formation skydiving) over the next year. The final aim of this project is to see the recruits take part in competitions during 2012 against able-bodied skydivers.
The loss of a lower limb and other injuries typically sustained on the battle-field don’t necessarily hinder a persons ability to skydive or become as competent in the air as an able-bodied person. By giving these brave men and women the chance to become involved in this sport we hope to give them back a degree of the freedom that they enjoyed before being wounded whilst serving our country.
Creativitea™ are really excited about helping this cause as these guys have been through hell and back and it's the least we can do to help them raise awareness and funds to really get this project off the ground.
If you're interested in this cause please visit their Facebook page Freefall Heroes or follow them on twitter @Freefallheroes.
