What's Adobe Edge? For the techies and web designers it's essentially Flash design for HTML 5, CSS, and Javascript. For the rest of us it's a new, cost effective way to get Flash-like website design that plays well with mobile and doesn't require installing/updating any add-ons to your browser. But don't get too excited yet -- it's only in a preview release and having played with it hands-on it needs a lot of work.
The effects and animations it can do are nothing new but it's all presented in a wonderful, intuitive interface that designers will be familiar and comfortable with.
We've also posted a first attempt at creating an animation. It's rather simple and quite self-serving but it managed to get us excited about a more universal usage of motion elements on websites.
